Sunday Sketches - Hanging On

"Dreams, ideas and plans not only are an escape,
they give me purpose,
a reason to hang on..."

My husband always tells me that he loves the fact that I have so many ideas in my head
...and he's right, I DO!
I'm always thinking, planning, rearranging, sketching, cooking...coming up with something new....
I guess that's what keeps me going
....keeps me happy and alive
I always like to say,
So many ideas, so little time....

but without my dreams of becoming a whimsical book illustrator,
or a famous cookie maker, or a teacher
or living in new york city as a stationery shop owner,
or a making my mark as a fabulous decorator,
I don't know
what I would do...
they really do keep me hanging on!

and that's OK with me!

How about you...
what ideas and dreams help you hang on?

Speaking of ideas...here are 2 ideas from my little girls....for this week's Sunday Sketches...

Summer, age 7 and Saylor (Pup), age 5

For more artists and dreamers
head on over to one of my favorite blogs,
Blue Chair Diary...you will LOVE what you see....

Happy Sunday!

I love your sketch, it fits with your post so well. The kids art is amazing it is so fun to see the kids work. I think what keeps me hanging on is my grandchildren.

I'm sitting here at my kitchen table, tears streaming down my cheeks....I am so touched by this post and that your daughters participated this week. Lenora's children do the same thing. I miss having a mother (and a good one), and it blesses me beyond belief to see the time you and Lenora spend with your children. May you be doubly blessed for doing such a thing!!! I mean that with all of my heart.

Another wonderful sketch. Happy Sunday! Hugs!

So cute - I love hearing about all your dreams. We are similar in that respect...I am always trying to figure out which one to pursue the hardest and end up spreading my energies and talents over them all...I dream of publishing my book someday, maybe books. I dream of taking art classes on a regular basis so I will know what I am doing when I draw...and a million other things it seems.

Your daughters pictures are so cute! I love that they are included here.

Such a fun sketch and lovely post! Oh - I want to be ALL those things too! I tell my family I need to have more lives - one is simply not enough! My kids are thrilled with your children's art - all the art on SS - they are super excited about every sketch we open! Lots of oohing and awing going on here today! Thank you!

dreams and so many things my life is full of, I am trying to do them all right now. I am quite aware that I am living one of my biggest dreams by living where I live right now! I am so thankful.

I love your drawing, it is cute and lively and wonderful. I also love that you are sharing your love of art with your children. I love seeing theirs also!
