It's so hot here, that Public Schools are closing early today!
No, not due to snow...due to excessive HEAT
We have heat advisories in effect for our area now with forecasters calling for
99 degrees.
I am thinking lots of ice cream....and the pool!
How about you?
How do you beat the heat?
I stay at home and craft on my little balcony, under the shady trees, great! Valerie
ReplyDeleteHa, we haven't had any heat to try and beat, it was only in the low 60's yesterday and suppose to be the same today, throw in some rain for good measure. We have only had a couple of days in the low 70's and one in the low 80's since last September.
ReplyDeleteGuess I am not the only one suffering from this stifling weather! Crazy being this hot so early!! Well, stay cool, I love you sketch! No school, due to heat! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love your summery painting Heather! It has been really hot here too. Today is my girls last day of school. Summer, yea!! Have fun in the sun(O:
ReplyDeleteWow, it is really a summer day!
ReplyDeleteIt is so hot here too. I think yesterday felt like 100+ degrees. I love your illustration btw.
ReplyDeleteXOXO
Cute! We had a few days of those HOT temps, but cooling off now. Ice cream and the pool sounds pretty good to me! :)
ReplyDeletecute...out of school here as of today and when i went to get in the car yesterday it was well over 100...ack!
ReplyDeleteYou must be in the North East with me. Some of my schools in our district had to do the same thing since they don't have A/C. Too bad my son's school was not effected. Your sketch is adorable <3
ReplyDeleteIce tea, Ice cream, Pool and take a nap...we are in the same boat. I truly can't remember when we've had a day that did NOT reach 90; it's been at least a month. But I can not complain because well, I don't like winter!
ReplyDeletelove your illustration :)
I haven't had to worry about it being too hot, but when it does get a bit warmer than I'd like I treat myself to a tall cool glass of ice tea, close the curtains and sit in a darkened room. Love the sketch. xoxo
ReplyDeleteLove your illustrations Heather! Your characters have such sweetness! I hope you cool off somehow...I'm bummed to hear of all that excessive heat! I like to cool off with a fan, the pool, and something refreshing to drink. : ) Take good care!
ReplyDeletepool and ice cream sound good!
ReplyDeleteWe've had mostly an awful spring season, overcast and rainy, other than 2 very hot days this week. For me, I like to enjoy ice cream, lots of it, lol! and cold glasses of water with strawberries and lemons in it for flavoring.
ReplyDeletehope it cools down for you soon
imagine that, heat closing schools,, wow, I wonder if that happens often,,I love your art by the way it is so delicate and such imagination,
ReplyDeleteHeather, hey oh I feel much cooler just admiring the icescream in your work. 100 degrees? Sounds like Oz :) in winter heh. Oh we keep cool by sitting at the beach and danling our toes in the pacific :)
ReplyDeletesee you!

ReplyDeleteWe are overcast today...but that didn't stop me from having ice cream. Your drawing is so cute.
ReplyDeleteSounds great to me!! I'm in!
ReplyDeleteoh wow!!! from one extreme to another....we had the hottest day ever yesterday...and today...it is nice and cool with no humidity!!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful illustration!!!
Cute! I'd love to be where she is at the moment but instead we're trying to escape the cold, brrr...
ReplyDeleteAnd we are just heading into winter. Enjoy it I say :-)
ReplyDeleteLots and lots of ice cream. It reached 102 in NJ yesterday! The hotest place in the country. Your work has such sparkle and life. Its a joy to see what you have created each week. take care, gerri
ReplyDeleteOh wow? Really? they close schools from too much heat? Well that is jolly decent of them , don;t you think? I'd hate that sort of heat but a day off at home woudl be great...well, that is, assuming one had air conditioning!
ReplyDeletePriceless artwork again, dear heather. you are so talented and inspirational. you really are. :)
