Cleaning out some boxes recently, I found some old love letters that I received many years ago. The handwritten notes were on little pieces of paper, cards and regular plain old notebook paper. I even have one on a napkin - "Yours Forever"...it read...A simple heart and our initials adorned the front of another letter.
I loved pouring over these handwritten notes. Their words brought back wonderful memories, sweet sorrow, hope and happiness as well. A reminder of where I had come from...
The words inside the notes were written from the heart, thought about, signed, dated, sealed and delivered. There were no backspace buttons, no delete buttons, to speak of. Maybe there were a few cross outs, scribbles, drawings, hearts, etc. but it was written with feeling....written in ink. So I got to thinking,
Are love letters a thing of the past?
With texting and emails, will our children have the memory of the faint smell of the paper, the scribbles
and tear stains on the edge of a note? -
Well, I know one thing is for sure, I will forever treasure my box of love letters!
Thank you to my Valentine, for those!
How about you? Do you write love letters?
Or do you type an email or text your feelings?
When you express your love...
