Sunday Sketches - A Tribute to Super Mom

This is a tribute to all of the Super Moms
(and dads, you know who you are) out there
who have ALMOST made it through the summer,
entertaining the little people in our lives.
So, I am sure you have had your share of
 Monopoly, arts and crafts, tennis, soccer, museums, beaches, pools,
musicals, day trips, zoos...camping, kayaking, movies, sleepovers...and more, right?
So, With Starbucks in hand I salute YOU!

I love my girls more than anything else in the whole world,
we've had a great summer, but now I am ready for a little camp of my own...
maybe a weekend here, or here...no plans, no ideas, no agendas just ME.

Camp Mom - the final countdown

I like to refer to August as

Camp Mom,

at my house.

Regular camp is over, and I am the official camp counselor around here...now.

Ok, so we've done just about everything on our list this year.

We've gone here, here and here...and even here.

So, today, we discovered a great new art supply shop.

I just love a good art store...so inspiring, everything is so colorful...so new and clean....

we picked up some Prismacolor markers,  I have never really worked with markers before, but I had fun with the colors we bought and this little drawing.

the only bad thing? there was no Starbucks anywhere....in sight....

and we need a lot of that, at Camp Mom....

Stargazing....Hollywood Style

Blue Smoke - Love

I just had a wonderful lunch at Blue Smoke, one of my favorite NYC Restaurant.

The best part, other than the mouthwatering barbecue ribs?

They serve up little pig sugar cookies for the kids to decorate

and while you eat they cook their mini-creations.

and voila....dessert!

Sunday Sketches - Popcorn & a Movie...and My Sea

We've been quite busy this week around here, ...I like to call it Camp Mom!

So, here is my Sunday Sketch . It's the rough draft of an invitation we are creating forSummer's

8th birthday party...

We are having a special screening of Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam....

the sketch begins with an idea of what I have in my head...to make the invitation unique!

(lots of ideas, there, by the way). 

 and this is what the end result looks like....You can't see the glitter on this one, but the popcorn is accentuated with sparkly glitter... the end result is so fun!

The theme is Sea...maybe you will join us over there,

I went with a different sketch in the end, but "Sea" would have been a perfect name for

Summer and Saylor's sister, don't you think?
