Guess Who I Got to Meet?

I was so very excited
when I got the chance to meet the wonderful
and oh so talented illustrator Vanessa Brantley Newton
last night at Borders Books on Park Avenue in NYC.
She was there along with the author, Tori Spelling,
to sign copies of her new book,
 "Presenting Tallulah"
It was so great to meet someone whose work I admire so much.
I love her illustration style, it's so cheerful and whimsical, take a peek here.
Vanessa was so very gracious and full of joy, too....Just like her illustrations!
She took the time to sign 3 copies of the book for my little girls (which they loved, btw)
and one I will be donating to our school.
Really, thanks so very much Vanessa, your were such a JOY!
It was such a pleasure to meet you!
Best of luck with Tallulah....
little kids of all ages will adore this book - add it to your collection, today!

I am glad you got to meet Ms Newton. Thank you for sharing her art with us it is fun and whimsical. The photo of you is wonderful. Just between you and me (and whoever else reads this comment) I think your work is as good or better, I love your characters, especially Madeline. It is a hard business to break into but I wish you success.

Oh, too cute! I will have to check this out, I used to LOVE picture books as a child, since we don't have kids I am sort of out of the loop, but I this is making me think that I need to check them out again, would be really fun to have some as coffee table books! XX!

Woooooohoooo!!! I'm SO jealous, Heather! Look at you, two...I know you must've both been hootin' and hollerin'. What an awesome day it was for dear sweet V. I know she is as genuine as it gets - her exuberance for her work, her peers, this industry, and to all of us who are so fortunate to get to know her through the blogs is just so amazing and generous. I just love her to pieces..I'm so happy you met her and bought those books! I'm sure they will be cherished. Hope you had an awesome time!!
