Creative Tuesdays - New Year

"Live according to your own idea of happiness..."
Pico Iver
What is your own idea of happiness? Do you live by that idea? Well, too often we can caught up in what should make us happy rather than what does make us happy.
One of my New Year's resolutions is to live the way that makes ME happiest...The real ME!
And one of the things that makes me happy is drawing and being creative.  So, it's time to visit Mr. Toast at Creative Tuesdays. It's the first Creative Tuesday of the New Year. I can't wait to see what my friends have created.

I am also submitting this for the Illustration Friday prompt....Resolutions...

What makes me happy ???? Today, Heather it's visiting your delightful illustrations and this excellent post.

Yes, I agree...we too often fall into other peoples happiness.... Find your own, and pitch your tent and stay a while.

Happy New Year my friend! I love your illo this week and the message. Gotta love a girls who skates in her black tie party dress. Finding, doing and being happy seems so much easier as I get older and settle in on the REAL ME! I am with you - creativity makes me happpy & my pony time. Thanks for your kind words and well wishes. You are spot on - I can be too hard on myself at times. Looking forward to the friendship in 2011.

Heather,
Interesting question actually...there are varying degrees of happiness and truly though, I'd be my most happy if I lived on the beach with a huge picture window looking out over the ocean with a desk to write, and scrapbook and paint with my family surrounding me. That would make me very happy!

ps...I love the sketch; so cute!

My idea of happiness: enjoy the little things because they are the big things.

Interesting examination - what "should" make us happy versus what "does" make us happy. I'll have to think about that one, I find it funny that the question stumps me, perhaps I don't take enough time focussing on that.
