Creative Tuesdays - Valentine

 I'm a-gonna wrap myself in paper,

I'm gonna daub myself with glue,
Stick some stamps on top of my head;
I'm gonna mail myself to you.
I'm a gonna tie me up in a red string,
I'm gonna tie blue ribbons too,
I'm a-gonna climb up in my mail box;
I'm gonna mail myself to you.

The theme this week over at Creative Tuesday's is Valentine.
Do you remember this famous Valentine song by Woody Guthrie?
I sure do! It was always one of my favorites. I was so excited to illustrate it for this theme!

So, I am sending myself over to visit Mr. Toast at Creative Tuesdays,
   stamps and all....
come join the fun!

heehee..lovely take on the valentines theme...I have often wished it were possible to post myself off to far away climes..however the vision of my rear end stuck in the post box puts me off a little!! :)x

Hahahaha, so funny and adorable! I don't know the song, but your illustration alone makes me feel like dancing. I read a story about how one couple sent their young daughter to her grandmother's house by mail! They slapped a bunch of stamps on her and gave her a sweater and popped her on the mail truck. Of course, this was almost 100 years ago, before they had any rules against that. :)

And I'm so glad you did! Love it. So darling. No, not hear this song but do love the lyrics. You have done a great job capturing the idea here so well. not sure what I like best here, if it;s the little stamps. the shoes, or the mouse or maybe even that mailbox but it all comes together perfectly. I can definitely tell you enjoyed doing this. TY so much!!

This is super cute! Love the song and her movement, great capturing of what a dancing person looks like. Her hair is almost as red as the cards she has! I wish I had hair like that :-D
