It's the color Purple....

Just wanted to share with you one of the MANY things I am working on this week.
Yes, it's a mood board for my youngest daughter's new room.
She's all about purple...and not just any purple as you can see, but bright purple...as Benjamin Moore calls it, Mystical Grape....to be exact
Well, in my Children's Writing and Illustration class, we recently talked about this mystical color.
According to my teacher, storybook editors look to purple as
quiet
shy
passionate
royal
with a touch of whimsy and wealth.
Hmmm? Not sure this purple is very quiet...BUT we will see when it goes up on the walls!
I actually like purple, it always reminds me of crocus and lilacs, and springtime,
how about you?
 How do you feel about
The Color Purple?

I love the color purple. In my 20's I lived in a 1930's era condo and my bedroom was purple...not Mystical Grape but somewhere around lilac. It's a color that doesn't get nearly enough fanfare in my book. I love the board and the fabric. What a fun project.

PS - I thought about your little girl that wondered how I did my illos on the computer so I am doing the 'cultivate' series for her. I wanted to mention her in my first post but then realized I should get your permission first. :)

OH! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!! That is the only downside to Zazzle; you see orders go through but the purchasers are anonymous unless they leave a comment. I saw it post but thought it was my mom. She stopped by last night, had hers on, LOVES IT and said she was ordering one for Eva. They look soooooooooooooooooo good and the fabric quality is awesome. I am so very flattered you spent hard-earned $$$$$ in these difficult times on something of mine. JAPAN thanks you!!!! (and I do too).

I am going to try and do a daily process post of the 'cultivate' piece so that Summer can see how I work the image from sketch to completion. XO

Love the color purple although recently I've been leaning more towards pink. Must be my old age. lol. I've always associated purple with royalty.

Purple is a wonderful color. I think all little girls go through a purple phase. My daughter went, purple, then pink and now I think its pink again. Anyway even thought he is not a little girl, my hubby loves purple...he is a Minnesota Viking fan so has a legitimate excuse! :-)

Purple is my colour for this year I have decided. It goes so well with my "Word of the Year" (Propel), that I find myself much more drawn to it than usual and am loving it! A friend's daughter painted her room purple and it looks fabulous! I bet yours will too!

Oh your daughter is soooo lucky! I have a purple fanatic too - my 12 yr old Amira loves purple as it's one of the team colors for the Washington Huskies and we are a Husky family for sure!

I'm a purple fan too!

Hope you are enjoying a happy and productive week! This looks like a fun project!

Smiles and hugs to you this lovely Spring day!

Hey Heather,
Good choice of colors...After pink, purple is my favorite color :) although I'm more of a pastel person rather than the more bold of mystical grape. I think the colors will be quite enchanting...

Also, YES, I do love cats; there is nothing like them and to see Angel-Kitty learning from Hurricane is simply intriguing and just fun!
Have a great afternoon!

I like purple... in fact, I look rather gorgeous in purple (obviously forgot to put my glasses on)... it's a colour that I rarely use in my drawings... don't know why... it's a favourite colour with my little school girls... Your daughter is going to love her room....

Purple is not NOW my fave, but I did have a purple room when I was a teen--much like Jennifer, it was more lavender! One of my grands just had her room done in purple--she's almost a teen!

Purple was my mother's and granddaughter's favorite color. When shopping for them I would hunt out items of that color. Now I find myself with a new appreciation for purple. I can't wait to see how the rooms turns out.

When I think of purple my mind journeys back to the late 60's and the glory days of the Minnesota Vikings (the famous PURPLE PEOPLE EATERS). Old Benny Moore has outdone himself with the name "Mystical Grape" and if thats want she wants-----do it !!!
