Paint Party Friday - Little Miss Muffet

Little Miss Muffet

Sat on a tuffet,
Eating her curds and whey;
Along came a spider,
Who sat down beside her
And frightened Miss Muffet away.

Well, this week sure flew by! It's time for Paint Party Friday. Come join the party!

I have always loved reading nursery rhymes to my kids
...and this is one of my favorites.
Little Miss Muffet is all dressed up, this pretty kitty is not too frightened, yet!
...hopefully Mr. Spider....won't stay too long!

She's now available in my Etsy shop
Have a Great Weekend
and don't forget there is still time to enter my giveaway. Just pop over here, to enter

I adore nursery rhymes, and still say them to my "must too old" grandchildren...You never outgrow them in my mind. Your Miss Muffet is darling, to prime and proper!!

The older grandchildren like the "fractured" version of this one which goes..
Little Miss Muffet
Sat on a Tuffet
Eating her curds and Whey
Along came a spider
And sat down beside her,
And she took off her shoe and smashed it.

HaHaHa....Leave it to kids

I love your Miss Muffet, she's adorable. It would be interesting to see how you would illustrate some of the other nursery rhymes.

Love nursery rhymes too! However, I would get a huge case of the heeby jeebies and the spider might not make it to long...haha. Adorable illustration of one of my favorite nursery rhymes.

Such a rich and beautiful illustration! I love the style -- all those beautiful details!

Fun fact I just learned: this rhyme is the first and only time the word "tuffet" was ever historically written down in English -- no one really knows what a tuffet is, but most people guess it's a little stool since Little Miss Muffet is sitting on it. It could just as easily mean "a clump of grass" or something else.

Happy PPF!
