This meal just says
SUMMER
One of my favorite parts about summer? Eating yummy tomatoes with fresh mozzarella - sprinkled with fresh basil ( yes, I grow my own) - a dash of salt, pepper - olive oil. I usually add a few bagel crisps or crackers when I serve this too!....mmm. so good on a warm summer night.
How about you?
Any favorite summer snacks?

Mmmmmmm I haven't eaten lunch yet and you've made me even more hungry!!!!
Summer tomatoes are a must. I love tomato sandwiches on a hot Summer evening.
Tomatoes are way up there on my list for summer foods. I love them plain, in salads on sandwiches in fresh salsa and just about any way you can think of. It's time for lunch and I'm going to try your suggestion.
Yums! My fave...STRAWBERRIES!
looks delicious and healthy too. I've been eating a lot of berries.
mmm...make mine a tomato sandwich please...with mayo...and salt and pepper...
Hi Heather just catching up on your work!!! You do so much. Loved your cow girl what a cutie and your entries for Illustration Friday are always so fantastic, I especially like the girl in the canoe. Sounds like you are having a lovely summer. I'm so over winter at the moment we're like hermits over here as it's so cold!!! Lovely illustration Basil tomatoes and mozzarella go together perfectly :0) Oh and happy anniversary too what a sweet photo!!! :0) xoxo
Oh yes, that would be one of my favorites too. The combination of those flavors are just yummy.
Your drawing would make a cute recipe card.
beautiful,, those are the tastes of summer,
We just had this for lunch today! My CSA box had basil and tomatoes so all I had to pick up was the little mozzarella balls when I grocery shopped this morning.
Another favorite is peach dumplings. We get a special CSA box during the summers with stone fruit and the peaches are so prevalent that I have to come up with some ideas to use them up each week.
This looks delicious... so fresh! Your beautiful drawing and painting style would make an excellent illustrated cookbook!
xo
