Let's Make Pumpkin Vases

I love making these Pumpkin vases for my friends and family. They look so pretty this time of year, and there are so many wonderful farm markets that sell these perfectly sized pumpkins to fill with fresh flowers!

They are soooo easy - Pick your pumpkins and core out the middle removing all seeds and innards - ( don't forget to cook the seeds...with lots of salt!) YUM.

Next, purchase a bouquet of fresh flowers from either your local florist,
farmer's market or grocery store.
For mine I chose a mixture of pink roses, small cabbages and green leaves.
I found all of the flowers at my local grocery store.

Finally, fill a small cup with water and place inside the pumpkins. Cut your fresh flowers to size of cup so the stems are submerged in water. The cup cup should fit snug inside the pumpkin -
Voila! There you have a beautiful centerpiece for your table or entryway! They make great gifts, too!

what a very cool idea....wonder if you could use it as a planter as well, allowing the nutrients in the pumpkin to feed the plant through the soil then plant the whole thing after the season...hmmm...might have to experiment...

The many faces of the pumpkin. The vase is a great idea.

I make a meatload mixture and fill cleaned out small pumpkins, and each person gets a meatloaf filled pumpkin. They cook up in about 45-50 minutes in a 350 oven. Look so cute on the table!

Will take a picture and post before the end of the month.
