October is here...how do you ghoul?

We are getting excited for the Halloween season, here around my home.
My girls and I did some Halloween decorating yesterday...we hung some spiders and hid some rats. We put up our orange lights and sparkling pumpkins.
Now, I don't know about you, but,
I like pumpkins and elegant white ghosts, but, the girls want more scary things this year...
like skeletons and gravestones...
they said,
"come on mom, it's supposed to be scary....it's Halloween..."
...I don't think I am ready for skeletons and ghouls around the yard....
"aren't they frightening?" I said

"Yes, but mom, c'mon, it's Halloween..."
...
So, what about you?
Do decorate with ghouls and gore?
or are you like me with sparkling jack-o-lanterns and big black spiders?

Well, for now, maybe a skeleton or two will just have to do!
Have a great week my friends.

I have four daughters, all now grown up into lovely women. When they were little I use to decorate our windows mostly with those cardboard cutouts you find even nowadays at party stores. I would turn on a scary sounds tape by the front door on Halloween night.Scary was OK, but my girls always wanted to be beautiful of course.Halloween never hurt my christian daughters.

nice...i like the color and that background makes it pop...we do not decorate the yard...but we have a clone trooper and a baseball player ready to gobble some candy...that is for sure...smiles.

We did spooky witch pantry jars this year and decorated our mantle with pumpkins, greenery...and a few skulls mixed in. We have tables and chairs draped in fabric and a mini greenhouse filled with bones. I like elegant scary...like a real haunted mansion or period movie, but my 5 year old told me it was too scary and that next year I can't decorate this scary...haha!

Love the little kitty :)

Halloween with the kids is always exciting. One of the Day Programs where I work is getting ready for their annual haunted house.

I love this kitty! We keep our decorations mostly indoors, and I admit they are mostly cute not scary. The older kids would probably like more ghoulish decs
:-)

Hope you are enjoying your MOnday!

Love that kitty! We are just starting out with Halloween here, and it's the other way around where we were making some little witch decorations and my girl found it a bit scarey and told me we could do nice things too like fairies :-)

Oooo not real rats I hope! ;)
I usually make paper garlands of bats out of black paper and we have pumpkins around the place. My daughter who's 14 goes for the Goth look these days at Halloween time. Her very light blonde hair doesn't quite do it though!

Boo! Miss Kitty looks neat against the green bg! Maybe she'll come by my house when it's time for trick or treating.

Hey, well we have only been recently infiltrated by Hallowed Eve in Aus. When kids knock on the door we hide -because we always forget it is on and have nothing for them. One year I did anser the door and had to promise I would drop some goodies over the next day - which I did. It was the first time my neighbours ever smiled at me.

One time I offered some kids an apple and an orange each.

They said no.

cheers :)
