Scenes from The City

Join me for a peek into my weekend....
in my favorite city, New York!

One World Trade Center

I spent the weekend in the Big Apple with my girlfriends....
Lots of eating...shopping....walking and good times.

We visited the World Trade Center Memorial

Located  where the twin towers of the World Trade Centre once stood are two granite pools in its footprints with waterfalls cascading 30 feet below. The pools are one acre in size and sprawl out across WTC Plaza. Each pool represents one of the two towers that fell on September 11, 2011.

The pools are surrounded by bronze panels inscribed with the names of those who perished in the attacks on 9/11. It is an amazing memorial.

The silence of the park and the waterfalls was just breathtaking.

Later in the day we traveled to
SoHo....

There, I even got to meet Rachel Ashwell the founder of Shabby Chic....
to my surprise she was working inside The Shop, right after I took this picture!
It made my day...
She was such a delight!

Also that weekend we ran into  Andy Warhol outside
of ABC Carpet and Home in Union Square

We were lucky enough to dine on a yummy dinner at Buddakan...

We had Milk and Cookies at The Standard in The Meat Packing District

and had a lot of great photo ops, including this
 Moet Sailboat....
"Be Fabulous" that's their motto, so we adopted it for our very own!

What a view!
We had a delightful cocktail hour, here at Gigino's overlooking
the New York Harbor...

Gigino is located in Wagner Park overlooking  the Statue of Liberty
Gigino, for details.

Such a great time, I am ready to go back!
Hope you enjoyed my "Scenes"

Fantastic photos Heather. I love New York but haven't been there in years. I hadn't seen the World Trade Center Memorial so I had no idea how amazing it is. Thanks for sharing your trip with us. Hugs
